| I'm currently working on porting my manifolds. I think the biggest problem area is where the exhaust dumps into the turbine inlet, particularly on the driver side. 


The tool clearance recess in the casting greatly impedes the flow in this area. IMHO, no amount of porting is going to help, as there just isn't enough material to work with. I remember Mike Smith of MS Performance in on of the SCC articles had cast steel or some material like it welded in place on the exhaust manifold so that he had more room to open it up. Has anyone done this? Crow Custom Cast Welding. This shop does custom cast iron work...anyone know of anybody in the DFW area that works with cast iron?
